Default Synchronizer problem?

Took my jeep in as it was getting difficult to shift (2007 with manual tranny) and the initial hypothesis (before they have done the detailed check) is that it"might" be the synchronizers needing replacement...just to be smart on this before they find out for sure, is this something I can do in my home garage with an experienced friend helping or are we talking something major?

Also, what kind of cost should I anticipate for this?

Thanx!

Mike

Default id say they could be wrong

syncros line up and would cause grinding going into gears / the issue is most likely to be a bent fork if its tough going in and hard to shift

my 4th gear syncro was junk from factory dealer replaced it ( unless you know trannys I wouldn't ) but others may feel different
