Default Synthetic in transfer case?

I wanted to get a few more mpg's, so I changed my oil and front and rear diff's to synthetic. I was going to change the transfer case over but the guy at O'rielly's said he had heard people have been having trouble with it. Has anybody done this and are you having trouble? I have an automatic and three mechanic's have told me to stick with the mopar fluid.

Default Thanks for the list

Do you think it will help gas mileage changing to synthetic in the transfer case or is it just trowing money away? I have not had a chance to check mileage since oil and diff change. The auto with 4:10 gears and 285 tires needs all the help it can get.I was getting below 15 mpg before oil change.

It will not help on gas mileage...I will probably use Castrol ATF+4, since it is what I put in the tranny also...

There won't be any mpg difference between synthetic and synthetic blend ATF+4.

It's all considered to be synthetic.

Default I think I will wait.

What is the maintenance schedule for the fluids in the transfer case and transmission? (I have waited till 40,000 on other auto's.) Is it the same on Jk's. I only have 22,000 on it now.

I have been running all amsoil in every thing, I still change my oils at mfg specs. except for the engine oil. which I do run a little longer, but not by much. Mpg has never been important to me so i dont know if it makes it better, protection is much bettter with a true synthetic, that i know.

I've been running oil made from decomposed plants and animals all my life and I've never had a mechanical failure due to the oil not being slippery enough. Personally I think all this high priced synthetic stuff is just another way to separate you from your hard earned money. Now if your money isn't hard earned, what the heck, who cares, right?
