Default taigate rattle...need help...

hey there fellow jeepsters...

i took off my spare wheel mount to install quadratec brake lights...
and 'something' fell into the tailgate on the inside and is now loose...
how the hell do i get it out...i can't get it from the inside face of the gate...
i've prized off the plastic covers and all i see is more sheet metal...
do you think if i remove the mount again and then take off that 'air-plate'...
i'll be able to see whatever it is...it's metal and rattling around loud...

what the hell is it anyway...a cable-guide or something...

Yea, I have had it apart when installing a lock actuator. Most likely a plastic plug. It you snake a coat hangar in there and drag it you might beable to get it to where you can get it or use a telescopic magnet just to make sure it isn't a sert weld or screw.

thanks for the info...it sounds like a metal part...
i'll take off the 'flapper -plate' this w-end and fish around...
cheers...

in answer to the mail below...all the nuts are there...
i had thought of a dropped one being the problem...
but all the carrier bolts tighten so all the nuts must be intact ... !

are all the spot welded nuts that hold the tire carrier still welded to the inside of the tail gate? Maybe you had one snap off that is now loose inside the tailgate
