Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this product?

No thanks. If something were to get caught on that rack as you drove by you would find your tailgate laying on the ground.
People have reported problems putting oversize tires on the tailgate, the sheet metal is thin.
I much prefer to use the cargo rack that attaches to the trailer hitch.
