I special ordered mine from a dealer. One thing I can think of was the jeep was being built as green and then the employee read my order tag and threw it in the black paint line?

I have a 2008 Bright silver sahara, all the paint is the same but the underside has a milky gray tint to it. Its because of an under coating that was sprayed on. This under coating i could see causing black to be greenish in color.

just my theory here.

It's not a greenish color in mine. It looks like the base color for rescue green before they shoot it with the clearcoat.

2007 Unlimited X with the S23 package, black paint and the undercarpet as well as the rollbars and tailgate is every bit as glossy as the body. Ours is also undercoated nice and thick on the undercarriage. Most likely because its an eastcoast dealership.

See. That's an 07 with black all over. If I pull my roll bar padding I'd have a black jeep with a rescue green roll bar. WHAT THE HECK??

It could be an extra spray coat to protect against rust. You'd think they would invest in different colors so it would match the color of the vehicle though...
