Default Temperature Control Issue after pulling dash

I installed my cb today and pulled the center dash panel to pull power from the cig lighter. When I put it back together I noticed that both my Temp control and vent control knobs were disconnected. I pulled the dash back and got the vent control back on,but my temperature control knob only turns halfway and I can't get any hot air. I adjusted it several times and even took it all the way off and tried pulling by hand. When I pulled it by hand I still can not get the temperature to change. The only thing that makes a difference is turning on the AC, it makes it cold. Any thoughts...........

Thanks in advance for any insight

So I went out to look at the temperature control knob, took the dash apart again and...............the wire that attaches to the knob pulled off somewhere further back. Looks like a trip tithe dealership for some "warranty" work.

Got a call from the "dealership that service built" (that's their motto) and was told that the problem was fixed. Low and behold, I picked it up still no heat. took it back and they can't get the other part that broke for several days. They also anticipate taking the whole dash apart. Why does this seem like its going to snowball into a huge PITA.

Moral of the story, don't pull on your dash cables with pliers.

I would suspect that the blend door control on the HVAC distrobution box was messed up if you pulled on the cable too hard. If you are still able to direct air between floor/defrost then that cable is still intact.

In order to get a good look at the distrobution box they will have to remove ALOT of the instrument panel and likely will take off the Instrument Panel Cover. . . I hope it is put back together correctly or rattles may be persistent.

Thanks for the info. I would guess you are correct. When i left the dealership they set it to heat, so i could control the air with the fan. I was able to switch between defrost and all of the other settings, but when I turned the fan off the door audibly shut and now no more hot air. I spent some time in the jeep today and the dealer tore up the dash pillar bad pulling it out. I am not looking forward to having them pull out the whole dash.

Not much I can do, just hope for the best. Thanks again.

The cable for the blend door extends to the driver side of the distrobution box, if you need heat I suppose you could reach up under the dash and mey be able to turn it yourself but changing the components is anoher story.

I hope it turns out.

Took three trips a new dash surround and an additional trip to fix the heated seats they broke, but the dealership pulled through. All work was completed under warranty. It's nice when people do the right thing eventually.

Unfortunately while I was there I discovered my 9 month old hardtop is losing paint. Waiting to see what Chrysler does. It seems to be never ending some weeks.
