My dogs won't jump out so nets aren't needed. If I have to run an errand or go inside somewhere, then I will leash her to the roll bar with enough slack to lay down and get to the sides, but not jump out to hang herself.

Tried the same idea a couple weeks ago and worked pretty good until my lab decided it was a chew toy. Not so good now. Probably gonna have to suck it up and pay the price for a real net.

Yeah I just bring my lab's shoulder harness and tie that to the roll cage where the rear cargo light is. Enough slack for her to lay down, but cant jump out.

Bought a dog harness from the company at the link above. I attach to his lead and tie to roll bar. He can move a bit and lay down but not enough slack to fall/jump out. Better than just tying the leash to the roll bar because he doesn't get strangled if I stop quickly

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend that anyone have their dog leashed w/collar on while moving. I just leash mine if I am going to be out of sight. It is a nice security system as well when the top is off, a concerned disgruntled boxer sitting in the back with enough reach to get about anywhere in the Jeep, except out (I keep my back seats down most of the time unless the doors are off).

I just got some nets for my JK. I'm not too sure about the rules of linking but I found mine doing a search on google for "jeep cargo nets". They are made by a company called Aspen Manufacturing.

I only bought the net that blocks my dog from crawling into the fron seat. The quality seems pretty good...but it has only been installed for about a week.

Why not just teach your dog's the command "STAY" ?
My German Shepherd will stay on command for as long as I tell her too. Plus I dont need an alarm with the top down and her inside. Anyone brave or stupid enough to try and take something can have what ever they can get out with including their own arms. Plus I don't have to worry about comming back and seeing her "hung" from her own leash or netting.

Chop.
