Is there a reason I don't have a sub?

Default Is there a reason I don't have a sub?

After reading a thread about someones subwoofer getting in the way I decided to actually look in my back at mine and realized I don't even have one. Is this a feature of older or newer Jk's, or did I get screwed somehow?

I took mine out to do the Linex and couldnt tell it was out really. Now with the top on, I may be able to but I have not put it back on yet. ITs a pretty wimpy sub and the stock stereo sounds OK with out it.

I think when you have a sub you also have upgraded speakers which is why it sounded pretty good even with out. But I'm not 100% sure about the upgraded speakers. Also the presence, or lack of the sub may not be as noticeable depending on the type of music you listen to.

Call me crazy, but it would be easier if you gave us details on your JK. What package? Rubicon? What?

Id have to agree that without the sub the only reason it sounds good is due to the infinity speakers throughout, the sub supplies a little bass(obviously) but if you dont have the sub, you dont have the infinity speakers and chances are it doesnt sound too great. Even with the infinity I was considering upgrading because I have a pair of Focal Polyglass components and a nice JL amp, but, its a jeep I dont need someone breaking in to steal my unneccessary amp and speakers.

I have an unlimited x. I'm trying to find the sticker to see if what speakers I have but can't find it. But either way I don't really need it considering my little bro just gave me a monstrous sub I will never use. So thanks for the help guys.

Unless you have the upgraded 6-disc or Navi system, you didn't have one anyway.

If you have anything but the stock speakers you'll see "368W Infinity 7 Speaker System" or something along those lines.
