Is there a way to override the check engine light to get the remote start to work?

Default Is there a way to override the check engine light to get the remote start to work?

So my check engine light has been on for a while, its the evap fualt code. Everything on the evap can appears fine. I had it in the dealership and they wanted to charge me to look into it further. I have had it reset a few times and usually turns back on after a few days.

I wasnt too worried about it until it got cold and now the remote start wont work since the check engine light is on. Does anyone know is there a way to overide the check engine light so the remote start will still work when its on? I didnt know if maybe the superchips tuner could do something like this, I would rather buy this than pay the dealership any more money.

No way to override it that I know of.

What's the code you are getting? Might be an easy fix.

Default evap

The evap canister should be covered under the emission warrenty, if you have under 80k I believe.

I couldn't find anything in the 2010 warranty booklet that says the evap canister is covered beyond the regular 3 years or 36,000 miles warranty.

I bet it's covered too.

One of the many reasons I'm not a fan of OEM remote start systems. :-(

I didnt have them mess with the evap can last time I was in the dealership because I have a skid plate over it so its not accessible, I guess I might have to remove the skid plate and take it back into them and see what they come up with. I bought the lifetime warranty, but not sure if this is covered under that or not.
