I know it will go below zero but I don't want to see it. In Texas I doubt I will ever see such a number here. Might see that when I visit Indiana in the winter.

Digital thermometers do not change until they are either +.5 or -.5 from the degree mark. Meaning if it is 50.4 it will show 50, if it is 50.6 it will show 51.

The temp where you are is not necessarily what the idiot weather people tell you it is. They are simply telling you the temp where they are at, 5 miles away it can be totally different. Now if you are on totally flat land it will most likely be similar. There are lots of variables, so if your thermometer seems off it probably isn't. You can always verify with an accurate thermometer that has been calibrated.

I was unsure cause mine seems 5 degrees off. It was 0 F on my outside therm. and the Jeep read -5 F... (BTW Other day showed -16 F.. ) Are some not as accurate as others??

For what its worth, mine said -15 the other day. It it set in Celsius, but at least the numbers register on the negative side.

I've only read a few posts in this thread but will say that last night I thought that mine stopped @ 0 too. Knowing that it was cold as hell here in Chicago and every other temp reading was saying the high was going to be -1 below I thought, ok that's as far as it goes.

Then, a couple of miles later it registered -1 below.

It was -14 this morning, good old Ohio weather! I park my Jeep in the garage, which is fully insuated and the temp has never gone below 42 degrees in there. After drving about 10 minutes my temp gauge read -14!

Usually they are self calibrating, but it is possible to be off. If you have a thermometer, like the ones sold at a lot of grocery stores (non-digital) if you look at the back there will be a little hex nut. It is used for calibration. To check calibration of any thermometer get a glass, fill it with crushed ice, then fill with cold water. Stir for two minutes and check the reading. It should read 32degF or 0 DegC. In the case of the thermometer I mentioned above put a wrench on the back and twist the dial till it reads 32 or 0 C. Dry it off and verify your OSA temp with it.

Hope this helps.
