Default For those of you who had/have water leaks.

For those of you who have water leaks from either top. I am curious how many after taking it to the dealership were able to get their leaks fixed.

Default third option

should have had a third option...

hard top 7 trips leak fixed by sending it to a leak specialist, but still pissed

soft top is on its third trip and all the bows have to be replaced due to rust and corrosion on rivets it may not matter but i have the sunrider on an 08 x

so i said no to fixing the leaks

Last edited by aclokwerk; Jul 21, 2008 at 07:32 PM. Reason: for got to add the non mopar folks work that fixed the hard top

I know this is a big topic with some people. I personally have occasional leaks with both the hard and soft tops but I don't mind as it's not much, just several drops sometimes and easily wipes up. It's all plastic anyway so it's not going to damage anything. Some get more leaks and if you have carpet still in there then that can be an issue, but why they put carpet in this thing is beyond me. Pull everything from the interior that gives you stress and you'll be much happier!

Took in the softtop. They put in weatherstripping along the top.

Then I removed it and put better stuff on.

Dealer never fixed mine, got tired of the flood in the Jeep here in South Florida. Finnaly got rid of the Jeep for something else and have never looked back.

I voted that my dealership fixed my leak but only because they replaced the top. My soft top leaked at the seam that runs above the soundbar. They sent the Jeep to a local upholstery shop who made a mess with their glue (looked like rtv) oozing out of the seam, plus they added another stitch across the top. Looked bad and the very next rain we had, the top leaked worse than before. They wanted to send it back to the upholstery shop but I told them I wasn't happy with the job and that the Jeep was so new, I wanted a new top. I had to threaten to call Chrysler before they would replace it, but they did and I haven't had any leaks since. It's been almost a year I believe.
