Default Throttle body

How many have cleaned your throttle body and at what mileage. What was the condition or it. Clean, dirty, or very dirty. I have 91000 on mine and plan on doing this in the spring.

I did mine at about 69k. some 409 and a toothbrush and about 15 mins to clean (not including taking it of and putting it on). Total time, about 45 mins taking your time (beer plus a cigar). Very easy. Mine had a lot of gunk but don't know if it effected anything (nothing noticed versus running the dirty one or after cleaning).

Seriosuly though it's cake (and I am not mechanically inclined). Remove air box hose with a scredriver (about 30 secs), take out 4 long bolts that hold the TB in place (about 5 mins). Figuring out how to undo the clip that holds in the electronic wiring on the TB (about 3 mins). Cleaning (about 15 mins)....and put back together..... I cannot beleive someone would charge 400 bucks for this...
Oh yeah, and I gave a VERY light oiling to the gasket

Enjoy

One more thing....If you are looking at putting in a throttle body spacer, save your money. I have one...ZERO MPG, ZERO HP, ZERO ANYTHING. Increase in waste of money: 100%

There's a long post on the forum about this - it was popular about a month ago!

Subject: JK Throttle Body Removal/Cleaning

Easy to perform - personally didn't notice a huge change but idle seemed to be a bit smoother!
