Default Throttle Control light malfunction on 2012 JK : Help

My 2012 JKU has barely 6,000 miles on it .

Sometimes, out of the blue, the Throttle Control light comes on and the engine starts stuttering .... like threatening to shut down...
Pressing on the gas does nothing ... And sometimes it does actually die on me in the dead of traffic.
I quickly cycle the key .... Start the JK again ... (Throttle Control light still on) ... but at least I can drive away.
Then .... Pooof .... The light just disappears .... until it decides to do it again in a week or month .

Anyone can help diagnose what could be the problem ?

BTW : there hasn't been any driving in water or pressure washing the engine or anything like that.

The only water that may reach the engine is through the AEV hood vents.

This said ... Last I washed the JK was 1 week ago ... But the problem happened yesterday on my way back from work.

Forgot to mention : I can predict when it's gonna do it because the engine (pentastar) runs a little rough ...

I'd try a reboot. Disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset the computer. This has solved quite a few weird computer glitches over the years.

Contaminated fuel? Loose/ dirty battery connections (remove, clean, reinstall) Press fuses in power box to make sure all seated. Test battery, faulty battery voltage drop could cause issues. Good luck. .

I think it is not these, as the dash light goes on which reflects a sensor or software issue with the fly-by-wire throttle.

Leave the battery disconnected for 20-30 minutes and it will clear it out. Any mods at all?

Did you ever figure this out...my 2010 is doing the exact same thing. I know the engine is different than yours but many of the other computers and sensor operations are similar.

Haven't ran across this with a Jeep yet. But I've had this happen twice with the DBW system on my Vette. First time it was the TPS, second time it was the stepper motor.

A good scan tool, with a decent tech running it, should be able to diagnose the problem. I found my TPS problem using an oscilloscope.

In my case it was a faulty (dying) battery .... Replacing the battery cured it forever.
