I saw on an episode of Truck-U that there is a reflash tool(sorry, didn't catch the name) that can eliminate the throttle lag setting in Chrysler vehicles.

I agree, i dont think anyone will come out with a cable conversion kit. But the throttle will still repond if you were to hook a cable to it. This has been proven with the cable handle throttles used for on-board welders. I am sure you could modify this to your pedal.......but then you run into the computer/emissions issues as previously mentioned........i say just give it time for you and your new Jeeputer to get used to eachother.

My JK has 1200 miles on it. Will it get a little snapier after some more miles? It is a Dog now, seems to need to downshift alot.

There are no smog checks where I live (which is a good thing, because my other Jeep would never pass).

If there is a way to flash the CPU to make the gas pedal less laggy feeling, and more precise, that would be awesome.

yes it will get snappier with time, albeit the JK will not become a hotrod. Mine wke up about 3500 miles, and got better, but I was doing upgrades about that time too.

You will get a nice oomph from a CAI (cold air intake), and I lost the low end lag with the Jett Stage II chip. That's all the benefit I got from the chip, and I think there are better ones out there.

I am now quite satisfied with the performance, and love the drive by wire for rock crawling. Major improvement from the TJ.

Now, I am debating between the hemi swap and a supercharger. But since I have no money, I have plenty of time to decide.

Mine has even figured out the 35's. It took it awhile but it seems more responsive than it did when I first added the tires. Glad it has. I can wait until next year for a gear swap.

Like anything new, you have to get used to it.
I doubt any reputable company will come out with anything you are sugesting, as there could be great liability.
Without the "ET", there could be no ESP or BAS, as there is in the JK now, and I for one, having drivin the SWB Jeeps of the past am very glad that I can put my wife in one that I feel is very safe for her to drive every day.
I admit at first I didn't like how it responded, however after getting used to it, then testing the brakes on the roads after a heavy rain, and in the snow, I was impressed how well it handled and stayed straight when I hit the brakes hard.
This is a new generation SWB Jeep. Get used to it.
I don't know were you drive your Jeep but I'm not one bit interested in any of the so called safety features. I find the ESP to be a pain in the ass. In my case safety is my least concern. To me it all about performance off road. Thats why I own a Jeep.

What can I say other than, perhaps you should have checked into the JK a bit deeper before buying one, because "those so called safety features" are here to stay.

I'm sure there are many older Jeeps out there that would fit your taste.

Here in the detroit area ESP is a godsend. Lots of snow, ice and traffic is what we get here. I had a TJ and the short wheel base and a limited slip could be a handful on slippery roads.

My '08 rubicon is so well mannered on slick roads it's downright amazing. You hit an ice patch in the middle of a curve going 40 MPH and you don't have to stop to clean your shorts out. You feel the back end come out and before you can can "OH #$%*&!" the ESP light flashes, and tucks every right back into line.

I will agree that the fly-by wire throttle isn't mapped very well. But I think ESP is great. And if you don't like it you can have the dealer disable it or there is a procedure you can use yourself.
