So I just got back from a long road trip, left Conroe and headed north into Arkansas. Total trip was about 1k. On the way home yesterday when I hit the brakes I heard a thunk from the front end. I heard it a couple other times on the way home when stopping and also could feel it lightly in the steering wheel on certain bumps. When I got home I climbed under the jeep and looked over the suspension on the front axle. The only thing I can find is the tie rod has movement front to back and when rotated it makes a clunk sound. My jeep is a 2012 JKU and has 20k on the clock, has anybody else seen this? I guess I am heading to the dealership with it tomorrow morning.

 

I have a similar issue, my problem is a lower ball joint that is going out and has movement in it.
