Ticking and some white smoke out of tailpipe-07 2dr jk manual
So about 10 days ago I noticed a ticking coming from the engine maybe the exhaust manifold on the driver side and I only notice it from about 2000rpm on, a buddy also said I had some white smoke coming from the tailpipe when I took off hard from the lights. I have an appt to get it checked out at the dealer next week anyone have any idea what this may be? Head gasket, lifters, cat converter etc.... 2007 2dr manual trans 108,000km

Did you check your oil level? Sounds like your burning up oil and the ticking could be you lifters knocking fron lack of oil. Been there still dealing with that. :-)

My guess is the lifters
My guess is the lifters would be responsible for the ticking noise. May turn into a big deal, maybe not. My 2012 has a ticking noise right off the lot. You hear it more when you are parked close to a building [like at the drive thru].
How much oil are you adding between oil changes? are you down at all?
Definitely check the oil and antifreeze levels and color/condition. Pay attention if anything is not right.
The white smoke could be from antifreeze getting into the combustion chamber from a cracked head. The exhaust would smell sweet like maple syrup, and you would be low on antifreeze. It could just be normal from the AC unit or condensation, etc...
If it is a lifter, this can [and typically does] last a long time before it becomes a problem that you need to address. You already have 108K on it, so paying a dealer to rip it apart and fit it would not be my recommendation. If it is the lifter, wait until it gets really bad and then fix it or get rid of it.
The nosier it gets, just turn up the radio. Fix it when you can still hear it over the radio, or if your adding more than a quart of oil every 1000 miles.
If you put in a heavier weight oil and some STP oil treatment and it gets quieter - then its probably a lifter.
