For me to get new shoes on my jeep. I know this has been discussed many times before but I just want to double check before I pull the trigger on getting new tires. I am keeping the stock 17's and am going to run 33's since I have to wait for a little longer to get my 2.5 inch lift. I have seen people here who are running 33's without a lift and I just want to confirm that I will be able to do it. I want to get Duratracs, so what is the correct size to be 33's , 285x70x17???? I really don't know how the size on tires work so I am asking for some help. Also, If I don't get spacers, will they not fit? If they rub a little bit I am ok with that since I will be lifting it. I wanted to lift it first and then get the tires but my current tires are shot and I can't afford tires and a lift at the same time, so tires it is first.
Thanks for your help and sorry to be a pain in the ass

With stock wheels and 33" tires, you will need wheel spacers, otherwise 4.5" or so of backspacing on aftermarket wheels. If you still have the stock air dam in front, remove it. You may be OK on the street but will probably rub a little at full stuff or tight turns.

Buy some used tires until you can afford to get your lift. Check craigslist for tires. There are a ton of JK tires on there cheap

My Dura-Tracs are 315/70R-17, they measure 34.25". On the ground.
