Default Tire deal

I was really unhappy with the 225/75r16 minivan tires that came on my X. I like the fact they are 16's instead of the 17's or 18's since it gives you more sidewall which is important to me when wheeling. The 225 minivan tires just plain suck in the sand though. Since I'm cheap though and didn't want to drop big buck on new tires since I plan to do lift and tires in about a year, I went to one of our local tire places and scored a great deal on a set of 265/70r16 Goodyears. $84 mounted, balanced and out the door ! Granted, it's still a street tire, but at least it will give me a bit more flotation for the sand. They started out at $180 plus tax but they ended up giving me $100 for my old (well new, less than 15o miles) stocker tires.

What a deal. BTW, it was at Tops Tire and Wheel in El Paso. Great guys to deal with.

Sounds pretty good, often tire places won't give you squat for used tires.
