Tire killer?
Thanks Rubimon, Jake_Blues and mkjeep for clarifying! I might go to the trail tomorrow or the the day after and good to know that I don't have to worry about it.
Agree with you Rubimon and mkjeep, and I don't like the way it looks either. I'm going to trim the corner sometime soon.

That pice isnt an issue on my rubicon. The factory rock rails cover it and make it a blunt shape. Have considered cutting it though to make the wheel well more uniform. Havent had any issues with 35's, even under serious flex but it would provide some peace of mind.
Okay, yesterday morning, before I headed to Hawkins Mountain Trail, I cut the rear corners and Rubicon rocker guard. Some of you clarified that the corner doesn't hit the 35" tires, but I didn't like the way the corner and the stock rocker guard stick out.
AFTER:

As you can see with this photo, if the corner wasn't cut, it would be very very close to the tire, I think. It was really nice that I didn't have to keep checking to see if the corner/rocker guard damage the tire or visa versa.

just re-attatched the plastic cover on the rocker guard. (The stain at the corner is from the dirt and rain from the today's trip... not from cutting).

Caution!! Tell your wife or girlfriend about this after it's done. I did not use the proper method of attack and got sucked in. "You are not going to cut up your brand new Jeep?" I just told her it was the latest craze, everybody's doing it.
After a couple of weeks, she said aren't you glad you didn't cut it. Then I showed her and told her I cut it two weeks ago. Once it was done, she actually liked it.
Here's what I did.
I removed the rock rails and cut 2-1/2" from the end. use a straight cut so the end cap will fit like the original. Drill a whole in the bottow for the end cap retaining plug, then shoot the exposed edges with a rattle can. Once the paint dries, insert the endcap and the rail is done.
Mark a line with a sharpy on the rocker body where you want to cut. Try to make it blend with the amount you removed from rock rail. Cut it with a sawsall. Paint the edges with touchup paint from the dealer. I used marine epoxy to fill the gap in the middle. It takes a few days for the epoxy to dry, so you may want to go back and paint over it when it's done, which I still need to do.

x2... I'm running 35's w/the stock Rubi Rockrails and body seem still there... it's close, but won't touch because of the arc mentioned above... when you flex out, it ain't gonna get closer... it'll move back slightly.
As was also mentioned, if you go w/37's, I'm confident you'd have to cut.
