Default tire rotation

i have a stock 2011 rubi and unfortunately waited too long to rotate the tires, there is an annoying "slapping" sound while driving.
i finally had them rotated, fronts to the rear , of course noise is still there, any idea if i can "drive" them to a proper wear pattern or am i looking at replacing.
i know, i know, great excuse for an upgrade!!

thx

See if these will help.

1) try lowering the tire pressure so that there is an even wear/footprint as the tires start rolling.

2) have a tire shop dismount the casing from the rim and have it inverted (I.e. the outer part of the tire now is remounted so that it becomes the inner part)
