Default Tire size options

I have an 07' wrangler jk. I am interested in putting bigger tires on it. I will be putting a lift on it in the future, but at this time I dont have the money. I am under the impression I can put up to 33" s on. Is this true? Does anyone have a good tire they would recommend? A majority of my driving will still be on pavement, so something on the quiet side would be great.

A 32", AKA a 275/75/17 is stock on a Rubi so that will fit with no rubbing issues. I have 2 good tires to sugest, a BFG AT is quiet, with really good maners in the snow and dirt, I would say only good in the mud and slush. they tend to pack up with mud and hydroplane in slush. Another one is the Goodyear Silent Armor, very quiet, Great in snow and slush good in dirt, but only fair in mud.
