Tire Size Options on Stock Rubicon X
Sorry for the newb question...
Just ordered a JKURX this week and wanted to confirm that I can install 285/70R17 Duratracs on 17" AEV Pintler Wheels with out lift or leveling kit.
I have seen mixed reports on this.
I may be considering a Teraflex leveling kit to remove factory rake.
Any info on leveling kits would also be helpful... Coil type vs. spacer type.
The Jeep will be a DD for at least a couple years until we get another vehicle. Then the real Mods will begin!
Thanks

you will be fine. If you were going to keep stock rims you would have a little rubbing on sway bar at full turn and the rear driver side control arm would be close. But the pintlers have another inch of back space. I ran 285/70-17 Open Country at2's on stock rims with on lift on my 14 jkur and only rubbed at max turn. Off road flexed you will rub the fender flairs however. I kept the 285/70-17's for 2000 miles and moved up in tire size to 285/75-17. I would suggest going bigger right off the bat. it is amazing how soon 285/70-17 look small. I went with a 2" aev lift and it works perfect for my size tire.

yes stock rims and Spidertrax spacers. Been very happy with the set up and I too did not want the tires to stick out past the flairs. I had that on my last one and these are right at the edge so don't get the crap up on the door handles so bad
