Yea they are the factory ones. Like its only doing it on the passenger side. The driver side is fine.

It appears to be catching, it buckles hard at the door surround corner

Huh good then that eliminates that aspect. The top reaches the windsield header panel loops evenly? The sunrider clips (or detents or latches or catches or whatever) click into their spots on the surrounds and stay?

I remember a buddy's Jeep that he never used the sunrider ... just top up or down. He used to complain about the top being noisy and flapping on anything over 40Mph. I looked at it and the top was never actually clipped in ... just held in with the main latches. With em clicked in it ended his issues and two years later no issues and I got some great beer from it

Somethin to check

I have to latch the passenger side cuz the driver side wont reach unless the passenger side is latched. It's been like that for awhile. I just delt with it but this just started and the girl friend is complaining about having a wet ass so I gotta get it fixed lol

The driver side door surround latch is MIA. No clue where it went or could be.
