Default Top & Tonno Prop Pros n' Cons

Has anyone here purchased and used the Skid Row Top & Tonno Prop rods in their JK ? After last night a huge rain storm and since I have gotten with the recommendation of my fellow JK'rs here I got the Mopar Sun Bonet I haven't removed it since I got it, love the damn thing ! Well back to the original topic that is that with the rain storm and the top and duster cover I very well cam close to having a lot of water dump into my jk, so now I have a cold from being out in the rain last night and well I'm seeking for you guys help with this. Thanks ahead of time.

I am looking to get one of these kits for my Unlimited. However, the parts I see on the Skid Row site look like some I have seen at camper and RV centers. Has anyone made their own prop top type deal? It can't be that hard, and you could substitute Aluminum or bamboo for the stringer. I just can't see paying $70 for a kit for parts that are available.

Ideas?

I got a set from a truck in a junk yard for 10 bucks. Cut them to the right length and they work great. Kind of a pain drilling into the roll cage to attach, but it was worth it. Click image for larger version

Default yep..

I have them both on my 2 door. they are pretty easy to install. the top props requires you to cut out some of the foam in the roll cage above the front seats and is held in place by some clamps. it actually fits pretty tight. the tonno prop requires you to drill a couple holes in the body to install the brackets. its not that big of deal. i did a write up on installing them actually to make things a little easier. the only downsides i see really is that they give the top and tonno an odd shape... however.. to me, their benefits outweigh that by a long shot. i have absolutely no flapping at all now, even at 80mph and no water collects on the tops. They are well worth the money if you are running the bikini top.

and heres the link to my write up...
