Default Torx bolt stuck in windshield mount

Hey guys I'm still a newb to most of this but I have been following this forum since I got my JK last december. I am having some issues with trying to put on some windshield light mounts, passenger side I have one bolt that will not come out. The bolt will just freespin in place, and I can only get less than an 1/8 of an inch to come out. I had some thoughts of just cutting it off or drilling it out but I don't know if that's my best option, it doesn't look like I can get to it from the inside to see what exactly is going on. Any help from someone with same experience or if anyone has any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

I would try applying some pressure to the back side of the bolt with a flathead or needle nose before I went to cutting the bolt. Didn't have issue with mine specifically but had this happen with other bolts/screws.

I have tried putting pressure to the back with a flathead, I assumed that's all I would need to do but for some reason that's not working.

I had one do that years ago. Complained to dealer and they could not dupe. Neither could I after that. If you can give it time, I think corrosion will lock the nutsert in place. If you hit it with something like PB B'laster, you may end up extending that time.

If it's a nutsert in there tighten the crap out of it first then loosen. But I think it would be a nut welded to the windshid frame, in that case try and pull the interior trim out to find the backside of it

Does anyone know if you can get to the backside of this bolt by removing just trim or major componets of the dash?

Just recently had this issue for the same reason. It's a nut welded to the frame and broke loose on mine. I drilled it out and managed to slip a nut up in behind and tighten it up with light mount attached. But it took some patience and a horse shoe you know where to do so. Good luck. You can't reach from inside with out removing some of the heater assembly ducts and even then I'm not sure you can.

You can unbolt the dash and pull it back away from the windshield.
The other option is to pull all the trim and fold the windshield down.
