tow hook help?!?!
i have a 2009 wrangler and im trying to buy tow hooks. the dealership wants around $100 just for the front and im not really up for paying that much. does anyone know if the front and rear hooks from an 07 or 08 fit on an 09? i noticed that where my hook would go, is on the drivers side and the other 2 years have it in the middle...
thank you. ive been on the "for sale" part of the forum for about 3 hours trying to find someone with hooks for sale because the snow is comming soon and i dont have any recovery parts. i did find someone with a rear hooks off an 08 and he said they might not fit. just needed another opinion.
theres a guy here in florida who is selling his from an 09 X model for $40. i dont know what shipping would be, but i can send him a pm if ud like.

Front hooks are easy as they are all the same. You see them here and Ebay all the time.
I would ask the dealer about the rear hook. You may find out that they are the same hook and they just moved it for '09. They might even have an extra one laying around from a bumper swap.

Have you considered getting a rear hitch, then just pick up a D ring that's on an adapter that slips into the 2" receiver? In fact, in a pinch, you can just use the trailer hitch pin in the receiver and a tow strap looped around it--no D-ring required. And now you can tow and carry accessories that attach to the receiver hitch.
BTW: The early model hooks mean that you can't also have a trailer hitch. That's why they changed the design in the later years.

I drilled my own holes in between the stock connectors. Used a $20 set of hooks from a 4wd store. They work fine for light pullls, but the metal in the bumper, in between the frame mounts, buckles if you are stuck deep in mud.
Just make sure you put them in the stock locations instead of in between.
Good luck finding some!
