Default Tow package?

What all does a tow package consists of? Is it just the hitch or is there more?

What ever happend to the old "tow packages" where you got a tranny cooler, HD cooling, and other goodies? I was dissapointed as well that it was only a hitch and wiring...

Default Harness...

Is it hard to install the harness yourself? May be a stupid question, I don't know. I just swapped out the tow hook for a receiver hitch. I don't do any towing but if it's simple and cheap, may install the harness also.

I believe the MOPAR harness hooks right into the left tail light connection. You have to remove the tail light, but it snaps on with no splicing. Then you just have to route the wires down to your hitch and secure them.

I haven't done this myself, but I'm pretty sure that is all there is to it.

The trailer tow package also was supposed to give you stiffer springs and gas shocks. It's possible that you got these any way but that's what the option said when I bought my 2008. The hitch is stupidly easy to install - just remove the tow hook and put the trailer hitch in the same place. Buy the MOPAR wiring kit to avoid potential electrical problems down the line.

Should not take you more then 20 mins.
I got the wiring kit from Quadratec for $16.99 M#92015-17.
And yes it just plugs right in behind the left taillight.
The only real thing you need to think about is where
you will connect the ground wire. I put mine under the
mounting screw of the taillight, it worked.
