I haven't done this myself, but I'm pretty sure that is all there is to it.
you are correct sir

You also get Trailer Sway Control (TSC) enabled in your ECU when you order the tow package.

I've read that optional programs such as this can be flashed onto your ECU by the dealership. Can anyone confirm?

I installed both the receiver hitch and the mopar wiring harness myself and indeed the Mopar harness is simple to install.

Where do you people route your wires? The dealer did a TERRIBLE job with my wires and theyre all zip tied to my frame. one wire is right by my exhaust. I also hate the plug that sticks down. I removed it and left it at home, but the connector is now ziptied. Anyone know where the wires are supposed to go and how to get the plug connector secured, since I took off the mounting plate with the trailer adaptor.

I let the dealer install mine so they couldn't give me warranty problems about wiring issues. I also bought it in the parts dept. (wholesale) first and gave it to service to install. They mounted the plug on the angle bracket on the bottom of the bumper. It got destroyed the first time wheeling after install. I removed it and got a new end plug with flip cap, tucked the wires up and threw the new plug in the truck.

I removed my end plug with the flip cap since it was sticking out low. I just have an exposed connector and need to figure out how to cover it. Also - where did you tuck the wires? I have no place to tuck it up. Its all zip tied to my frame and you can see it from the back of the Jeep. Terrible.

I just sent the wire through the frame. The frame as small holes at different point along it. By small I mean a inch or two around. After hooking up the wire behind the taillight, you will find a hole to the outside at the bottom. Run your wire through that hole and then from the underside I found a small hole in the frame to run the wire to the center area. Just used these holes to somewhat hide the wires. Hope this helps.

is that an absolute? as in, if it`s an 07 with the tow package, it has 4.10`s, no questions asked. or it is that the majority of 07`s with the tow package came with 4.10`s, and some had 3.73`s?

All 2007 Models with the Automatic Transmission came with 4:10's

Jeeps with Manual transmission ordered with the tow package also came with 4:10's...

If not you needed to get a Rubicon to get the 4:10 gears..

All other models came with the 3:21 gears.. In other words all 2007 manual transmission models came with the 3:21's

The 2007 models did not offer 3:73 gears.

Heres a good link for 2007 model year..

cool thanks, I've been looking for an 07 or 08 6spd with the tow package cuz i wanted the 3.73's. ideally i'd like the 4.10's, and was thinking i'd have to pay up for the rubi. good to know about the 07's+tow package.
