Default TPMS Calibration?

Ok, I've looked high and low thru searches and either A. I'm a bad searcher or B. I'm a bad searcher because this answer has to be out there.

I bought 5 new Pro Comp 7005's with DuraTracs on them last Dec. Ever since I installed them the low pressure light has been on my Jeep. I paid for TPMS valves to be installed, so they should be on there.

Do the valves need to be calibrated with the Jeep in any way? Or is it that the TPMS valve is installed so the sensors just pick it up? I'm picking up a digital pressure gauge on the way home just to be sure I'm at the right temp. Its been <10 degrees for the past week+ and testing the pressure with a regular gauge is horribly difficult.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

what is the air pressure in ALL of your tires including your spare?

My factory (stock) setting was 37, with an aftermarket chip programmer I lowered it to the lowest setting (26).

Yeah you need some type of programmer, either a ProCal or another performance based programmer to change this all around. Those TPMS dings get a little on the nerves sometimes.

Yep, you have your new tires at a lower pressure than the tpms threshhold is set at. Pump them up or grab a ProCal or Flashpaq and set it yourself. Another option would be to see if your dealer will lower it for free.

100% on the AEV ProCal Tool , works wonders , set it to the zero setting on the tpms, plug it into the OBD-II comnputer, Horn on the Jeep beeps twice, disconnect the tool, tpms light goes out , and never comes back on. You have many settings if you just need to tweak a new setting for a different size as well. I went with rims that did not take to the tpms sensors. Went with the old fashion valve stems and the zero setting. I check my tires visually every day and the air via a pressure gauge every 2 weeks, just like I have all these decades. I found the tpms technology a real pain. Every winter the stupid light would come on due to the cold temps here in Vermont.

For $150 bucks this AEV Tool does the tpms and many other programming features including centering you sterring wheel. WWW.AEV-CONVERSIONS.COM I do not work for them, I am just impresed on how easy and reliable the Prtotcal tool is.

As far as the dealer touching the tpms settings, I do not see many dealers willing to change the tpms setting, unless you have a one on one connection with a master mechanic or service writter. It puts the dealer in a liability.

Has anyone experienced any issues with Chrysler voiding your warranty after using the AEV ProCal?

I just keep it in the glove box, when i hit the lot and park it, flash it, reset to factory and in reverse order before I leave. Assuming I actually go to the stealer, My JK has not seen them in a pretty long time

I haven't seen any reports of service being denied due to a ProCal or Flashpaq, can't comment on any other tuners as I typically do not look at those threads.

As long as you go back to stock prior to arriving at the dealer, you should be good to go.

In a nutshell the AEV Protocal tool is not a programmer for performance. It basically toggles parameters on/off or variables for thing like TPMS, Speedo Calibration, Steerwheel Center Calibration, Daytime running lights for fogs or headlights, electronic config for gear ratio change, maybe something else. I asked my dealer to change certain thing for me like the TPMS, I was told no. Therefore AEV's Tool did everything I needed to stop that stupid flashing TPMS light. You can always program the tool to bring everything back to specs in one flash. If anyone buys one, be aware it only works with one VIN #. You cannot program multiple Jeeps. In order to program a second Jeep , you need to re-connect the tool to the last Jeep programmed and re-flash to factory standards and then the tool will clear itself , ready for another VIN #. This is their way to make sure they are not going to loose busisness with someone programming multiple Jeeps at a one tools price.

The programming is simple containing a chart and the tool contain 9 dip switches. Look at the chart for what you need to change and the chart will tell you what positions to set the dip switches. You can even temporary program to raise the RPMs up to 2,000 for winch operations or heavy battery amp draws. Worth every penny. I know there are other brands out there, but this is my personal expierence of this particular product.
