Default TPMS Question

I've got an 09 Sahara and just picked up a set of stock rubicon tires off an 07. These tires do not appear to have the TPMS. Can I run these tires ok? (size of tires is good). I can live with an idiot light being on if that's the only down side. Not to keen to a couple of hundred dollars for these sensors.

You keep mentioning 'tires' from the Rubicon. Do you mean wheels (rims/tires) or just tires?

Idiot light will be your only issue either way. Unless you buy a tuner to clear it.

wheels - rims and tires but no tpms.

great, I can live w/ the idiot light. I'm using the stock 18" wranglers (w/ tpms) as my dd's. The BFG MTR's are my play tires for right now. These are only temporary until I can get some bigger tires (17' or 18', not sure but by then I can pull the sensors of the old tires) when the wranglers need replacing.

that idiot light is pretty annoying though. it makes it so that you can dim your other lights all the way (the trip meters and stuff will always be bright), and you can't disable the traction control (using the hit the button for 7 seconds and turn the wheel thing) if the idiot light is on.

thanks for the reply's. Guess I'll live with it since it would cost me more for the sensors than I paid for the wheels.

Can I borrow someone's Procal & then return it? Or is it a permanent plug-in?

To the Original Poster.... You can always take the TPMS off & put them in a pressure canister & keep it in the jeep (do a search on this).

I know its a hassle, but thinking of using the mud tires offroad only, and using the stock Sahara tires as my DD.

I took out all my sensors and still was able to disable the ESP. they are not related. The chiming got to be annoying because it chimes once for each wheel and then chimes periodically so I got the superchips and disabled it.
