Default TPMS question

I have no idea what a tire shop has to install when they put the stems in my wheels when I get them installed but here is my question...I bought 5 TPMS from a forum member that took them off his jeep, but you can see straight through them (nothing to keep the air from coming out).?? Does the tire shop put something inside of them or is there something else I have to buy? Here are a few pics:

Is this something that the shop mounting the rims and tires would have?

The TPMS sensors that come with the Jeep have special valves that go in them. Standard ones do not work, they turn it into a $1.00 rubber valve stem. My guess is you will need to find the model # of those stems and buy new valves for them. I broke one of mine and it was $12 to replace it.....I do think they screwed me though because I have seen others cheaper.

Good luck....my guess is whoever sold them to you had them taken off their wheels and the shop just didn't put them back in.

If those are the same ones that came out of the stock wheels, you can get them from your dealer. I got one through my tire guy and as said, I think he screwed me at $12 a piece

You need a TPMS service kit for each one - should be $4-5 each - here is a link to one just correct the http: hxxp://revolutionsupply.com/(S(qrkrxljvoe5moc45e5zmnp55))/tpmssensors.aspx#servicekit

That site also sells the originals so you can match pics to determine if you got the right ones.

Hope that helps!

Just go into any auto parts store to get a TPMS service kit, I went to NAPA and got mine.

It comes with a valve, stem cap, nut and rubber seal
