having a Trail rated jeep means the dealer will cover everything you break offroad.

"trail rated badge" adds +5 horsepower at the crank, that'll help on your next club dyno run!!

I don't completely agree with putting this badge on your Jeep. It's like putting an "M" badge on a regular 3 series. Sure, its your Jeep and you can do what you want, but just my

I would be willing to bet that the actual percentage of 4x4 jeep owners who use their 4 wheel drive system is pretty low.

Wrangler Unlimited's are still Wranglers, and in Canada they are only available in 4x4.

So I repeat, glad I live in a country where all Wranglers (including 4dr. ones) are 4X4

I don't understand why some folks on this site drive Jeeps. Yes, it's a solid off road vehicle but I would argue it isn't the best. several purpose built rigs are much much better. But based on thier comments, it would appear that they think that the Jeep is only good for off road and they spend the rest of thier time driving something else. I doubt thats true - you bought a Jeep because its an all around great vehicle that just CAN go offroad.

A 2wd Jeep is still one of the most unique and capable vehicles out there and if you are going to keep it on road why not. Its a solid vehicle, convertable, tons of room and cargo space, safe. One would think as a TRUE Jeep owner you would understand that the off road capabilities are just one of many factors in what is an all around great vehicle and understand that folks that buy it for other factors appreciate it just as much as you do but for different reasons.

I personally would love for some of the posters on this site to approach me in public and make some of the same comments I read towards my "never in the dirt" Jeep. I doubt most would be as verbose or opinionated.

To that end...and to get back on track...do what you want to your Jeep. You are making the payment and at the end of the day making people on this site or any others happy is a waste of your time

X2

I got a 2 wheelie, but by the time I put a rockTrac 44 and a T-case in the front, I'll have something stronger and more capable than a rubicon for about 9 grand less. In the mean time I've learned a ton about suspension when I put on my lift, and I plan on learning more about drivetrain when I swap it out to 4wd. I've also had zero problems on the 4wd trails I've been on. I don't rock crawl, but I go lots of unmapped places for fun and have had no problems.

Jeeps are Built not bought.

Mine is a work in progress, to the OP whatever you do with it is your deal. Have fun with it!
