Hi all. Im turning my questions to the all wise JK-forumers so here it goes.
Im looking at 2 unlimited x's, both with 4spd autos. I have printed the window sticker for both. One says VLP 42RLE Transmission with a base price of 22,900 and the other just says 4-speed automatic transmission with a base price of 22,580. Again, they are both 4 speed autos. My question is....Is there a difference in the two transmissions, and if so, what? Thank you in advance.

You can verify what transmission is installed by running the VIN numbers by a Jeep service department. I don't believe there is more than one transmission for the JK. However, with potential fire problems, and my experience with the 6-speed manual, I would highly recommend trying out the manual transmission. You might prefer it.
