ID:	250993 I saw a small area in my garage that looked oily so I opened the hood and this is what i found. I can't afford to take it in to the dealer right now, I've got a hundred dollar deductiable and it's Christmas. I think that I'll wait for a couple of other things to go wrong first so I can bundle all the repairs at once.
I gotta tell ya, the longer that I own this Jeep , the less impressed I am with the quality that it was put together. "Parts supplied by the lowest bidder".
Every time that it has gone into the shop it's because of parts self destructing.
The Jeep sure is fun and I will most likely get another one in the future BUT this is BS.

There's a recall for that part. Had mine replaced under warranty....In the meantime before you decide to take it in you should monitor your trans fluid every now and then and refill as necessary...

It's a warranty extension for the lines. 2008 to 2010 Wranglers, built before March 10, 2010, the warranty on the lines is extended to 7 years/70,000 miles.

There was also an earlier campaign to replace the lines for the following:

A/T Cooler Line Replacement

Models
2008 (JK) Jeep(R) Wrangler

NOTE : This notification applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 3.8L engine (sales code EGT) and an automatic transmission (sales code DGV) built from October 01, 2007 through December 31, 2007 (MDH 100105 through 123108)

2009 (JK) Jeep(R) Wrangler

NOTE : This notification applies only to the above vehicles equipped with a 3.8L engine (sales code EGT) and an automatic transmission (sales code DGV) built from September 02, 2008 through September 30, 2008 (MDH 090205 through 093023).

There may be something out there for the later Jks, but I haven't seen it.

I think yours will be covered by the warranty extension if you have less than 70,000 miles on it. You should have gotten a letter from Jeep.

Call the dealer and ask about it. Tell them your lines are leaking.

i just registered on the JEEP. com site and the only current recall item on my vin# is for the inner fender liners. So I guess that mine lines are not under recall. What's this warranty extension that you are speaking of? When I purchased the Jeep I also bought the Chrysler Max Care, I'm covered for life on every thing but it still costs me a 100$ to bring it in. iIs this extension something different?
