Default Transfer case linkage

I've lost contact with my transfer case, the shifter moves freely... Anyone else had this problem?! I noticed at the transfer case the linkage was still connected but missing a cotter pin so I replaced that! I also looked to where it should run into the cab and all I see is a boot elbow with nothing running through! Will this be a hard replacement? Do autozones/oreileys carry these parts??

Not sure where yours broke, but if you have to replace a substantial portion of it you may want to look into the Advance Adapters cable and mounting system. It isn't cheap ($189) but at least it permanently cures the problems with the plastic connectors.

It's super common. The plastic retainer clip breaks either at the t-case or the shifter. I'll see if I can find one of the threads.

Edit: searching and posting a link is annoying on my phone, search the thread title "4 wheel drive cable break" good info and some pics of fixes.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure that it broke at the shifter because it came loose at the tc first and when I replaced the pin I noticed it wasn't connected at the shifter anymore! :-(

It can come disconnected at both places. Broken cable more likely, but possible to pop both off. I picked up spare bushings at the dealer for like $0.30. I find most are broken or pop off from yanking on the shifter too hard. It shouldn't take more than 1 finger to shift it when the gears are sync'd right
