Transmission Pan RTV Red VS Black
Hello all,
I am going to do a transmission fluid/filter change this weekend so I went to my friendly mopar parts store to purchase the filter/fluid. The dealer there informed that the mopar filter does not come with the rubber gasket and that they recommend the use of RTV. I told him that I already had a tube of red that I used a few months ago on my differentials, and he said no red reacts with transmission fluid it will eventually be broken down by the fluid and leaks will form. He recommended the use of black. Is there really that much a difference in-between red and black?
Thank You

One more question is there a waiting period to let the RTV dry before adding the transmssion fluid? It is not mentioned in the write up so i was just curious.

The stock pan doesnt come with a gasket, the dealer uses RTV. I used the gasket autozone provides and my pan is weeping, i suggest taking the extra time that i didnt, and use RTV sealant. I believe on the package it says how long it takes for it to cure
