Default Troubleshoot help needed

Hi guys,

I've been having this problem a few months ago. I have a JK RUbi 4 Doors, manual trans.
When I accelerate from 1800 to 2400 rpm, I keep hearing like a exhaust leak coming from driver side. Sounds like a old Dogde caravan with a leak.At first thought It was a manifold leak but everything is OK.
I when to the dealer, put it on lift and found a leak coming from the Y exhaust connection under Driver side floor. He fixed it and we tried It back and still, that sounds coming (Mostly from 4th gear to 6 sixth gear) at 1800 to 2400 rpm. The dealer his waiting to have another a Manual transmission JK to compare with mine.

DOES ANYONE HAVE THAT SAME PROBLEM????

Your help would be greatful, because I don't think the dealer knows were to look at.

It's a stock JK...for now

Thank You for any possible hint

Sylvain

This sounds to me like the infamous clutch disk sqeak that almost everyone with a 6 speed has. The sqeak happens at tip in at around 1800-2000 RPM.

See here for the TSB: http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-tsb-re...on-clutch-disc

Thanks,

I'll bring this Service Bulletin to my dealer to see what they think about it.

Hope It will solve my problem

It may be the problem because if I press the clutch while I,M driving , I don't get that noise.

I'll keep you inform on the situation.

Maybe I'm to picky about getting a perfect "no noise Jeep".

Regards,

Sylvain

Not too picky at all... There are "Jeep things" and there are not. This is not one on them.
Ive had this noise since the beginning and have hated it. Once the TSB came out I was so happy, but then I decided to wait several months for my dealer to (hopefully) get some of these swaps done before mine. I'll probably take it in within the next month.
Good luck!
