I would take a serious look at the Goodyear duratracs, as others have mentioned.

DO NOT PUT FALKENS ON A JK. You'll regret it when you get your first rotation. I'm a tech at discount tire America's tire, hes my top list; BFG all terrain, BFG mud terrain, Goodyear MTR Kevlar, cooper SST, and nitto mud grappler. Spend the money for better tires and go see one of our stores. They'll let you know what is the best tire for your style

Have you ever used them or read anything about them reviews or other people's responses? I think you should check they are very highly rated and if they were so horrible why would discount pay to have an exact version under a different name sold only in their stores? Blems can come from every manufacturer and no offense but some times techs don't mount things properly. Heck I had a discount tech put 1.5 ounces of weight on 3 tires and 7.25 on the fourth. I took it back and made them line it up right and shaved off 5 ounces so unless you have tested the tire yourself maybe you shouldn't be so against a tire. I work in a motorcycle shop and I could say dunlops are crap because I'm changing them all the time or that person may like to do burn outs or isn't running the proper psi lots of factors play in and just because you spend lots of money on a tire it doesn't mean it's better you have to get one that fits your needs. Such as what type of terrain will I be on how much will I go offroad what is more important to you traction or mileage. There's my 2c

Lol random... I loved my Falkens and they never had issues on or offroad. Had I known they came out with an ATS 2 tire that is lighter, I would have purchased those after going bigger. .

Funny thing is that my discount tire guy said the same, yet I talked to 3-4 customers at discount that swore by them. I'm thinking its a conspiracy =}

I have good experience with Mickey Thompson MTZ in various terrain types -- desert (either rocky or sand), woody trails, bolder or hard soil step climbing, mud (didn't try "mud pits") and paved roads.

My previous tires were BF Goodrich AT, which are among the best. They're more capable than the looks of their tread suggests.
This time around, I preferred the more aggressive tread of the Mickey Thompson MTZ, assuming they would have better grab in some conditions -- an assumption which proved to be correct.
