Can you go to another dealership to get this rectified? If I a had a paid receipt for an order and it listed an item that I didn't receive I would hold the seller accountable and not pay a penny more for what I ordered. I can't help but wonder if there is more to this story.

Speak with the dealer principle. If u have nav u should only need the mic.

Our '09 only need the mic and no programming.

FYI in 2007-2010 model years, uconnect did not include the mic, only the module. Maybe in the 2011s, connectivity group included the mic? I had the mic in mine with only connectivity group.

The stealership wants $500 to pay for the uconnect and they will "throw in installation".

So my question to this group of wise jeepers is this:

Can I get the uconnect cheaper somewhere else or should I take this to the stealership management?
Are you saying that you need only the mic. In my 08 i installed my own mic, and turned on the u connect voice command. The mic cost under $40.

from what I understand you need to have ordered the connectivity group to get the U-connect phone portion of the system..

the 2011 media center 430N is a new garmin based device and from what I can tell you still need the U-co0nnect module for it to work.. thus the need to have also ordered connectivity...

if your window sticker shows U-connect phone on it then you should have iot and the dealer should install it free of charge..

also beware if installing U-connect on a 2011 the MODULE IS DIFFERENT than the 2007-2010 model year U-connect modules..

Default similar situation

I went through a very similar situation where they went as far as telling me I didn't need the Uconnect option when I ordered the RHB Nav radio. The dealer called me after it was VIN'd at the factory and told me he screwed up and learned that I would not get the blue tooth or voice command without the option so they agreed to install it after the Jeep arrived for $355 (The option was $365).
I agreed, not knowing any better. I say this because the factory installed option includes the controls in the steering wheel and the Electronic Vehicle Information Center. It too late for me to return the Jeep but it really does piss me off.

You can find many similar posts as this on these forums. I think Jeep really dropped the ball on this one but not just including it in the upgraded radio option.

This seems to be a common occurrence with the dealers.

I had a friend oder an 11. He told the salesman he wanted Nav bluetooth etc. The salesman did not order uconnect and said he would not need it for phone.

Sure enough when jeep came in after being built... No bluetooth. Now he is fighting with the dealership. And now the dealership has a loaded jeep without Bluetooth phone.

Looks like the need to retrain on the '11s

im not sure why all the confusion it looks easy in the build your own that you need to select the connectivity group.. the dealers should very well know that too... i thought salesmen had to take classes on all the new vehicles.. but must be that has gone by the wayside.. like all sense of customer service from a dealership is gone too!

I think they are just very used to the wrangler not having the option of U-connect.. previously the only way to get it was to install it yourself...

Funny I looked into this difference with my 2010 I couldn't find any difference between the 2010-2011 navigation system. My 2010 is Garmin!!

I have a 2010 Rubi. It has the stock radio, cd with satilite. When purchased, I recieved 500 mopar bucks. I got a trailer hitch and wiring installed and had the uconnect added. It cost me $275 for the uconnect but it works fine. The mic is mounted on the left windshield post with some velcro. I have this with the navigation in my Nitro and really like the way it works with our cell phones.
Hope this helps.
