Default Under hood blanket part number?

My JK Unlimited X was built in December 2006, and so I don't have the footwell lights, under-hood light, or under hood blanket.

I don't care about the lights, to be honest. But I would like to get the under hood blanket. I checked with my dealer, and they can't find a part number for it-- I think because they don't know what the part is called specifically. The parts guy commented "it's usually listed here with the hoods, but I don't see it"

Does anyone have the part # for the under-hood blanket? Would it be listed on an existing blanket? If so, I'll just pop the hood of the next Sahara I see on the lot

It should come from the factory. It is listed as one of the standard equipment items, so the dealership should get it for you for free.

The hood and floor lamps were discontinued in October 2007 and it's very possible that the hood liner was as well. Sorry, I don't know if there is a part number for it.

I guess my question would be, why the hell is everyone getting their panties in a bunch about this under-hood blanket? I can see being upset about the lack of under-hood or footwell lighting, but can anyone honestly tell the difference with/without the blanket?

Yes, My blanket was dirty so i put it in the wash. I didnt get a chance to dry it so i couldnt give it back.

As a result, my engine sneezed this morning after being left out in the cold all night. (My better half wont let me bring her inside to the fireplace) So like a good Jeep it sits in the front driveway and guards the house from uninvited mudholes.

The transfer case is runny, and it has a bad case of the shifts.

I think my Jeep has the flu.

I would think not having it would cause the paint job on the hood to age differently than the rest of the vehicle, which is the main reason I'd want to add it while the vehicle is brand-new.

I plan to get my Jeep nicely scratched up, but a discolored hood just looks crappy.

The battery blanket is separate from the under hood insulation/blanket/whatever they call it.

That brings up a good question though-- does the battery blanket help with morning startup in cold climates? (I live in Downeast Maine, which qualifies)...
