Unhappy unfortunate hole

So, i was driving back from dinner when my woman pointed out that I have a hole in my soft top. It is over the drivers head almost hidden by the sound bar.

It is about a half inch long and is a slit in the material. Looks like it could have been a stabbing from a knife, not that I think that is what caused it.

Anyway right now I have a piece of electrical tape covering it until I come up with a more permanent solution. I am going to assume this is not covered by the warranty , Anyone have a suggestion on how to patch this up?

Take it to an automotive upholstry shop and they will fix you up. It sounds like it is small and generally not visible to anyone but someone looking for it.

If it is a stabing, your insurance should cover it.

If you want to fix it yourself
JP magazine did a nice article on repairing holes a few months back. It might be available online.
If it was mine, I would have an upholstry shop do it, just because I am sure their repair would look better than mine

Has anyone out there had this done? Any idea on cost? Anyone do it on their own?

Check if your 2 hooks with spring (located on the back door frames) are in a good position (not too high) because this can makes a hole to your soft top.
