I tried Mobil 1 and K&N before a Fram Tuff Guard, I'm just stating what filter didn't have a drain back issue. Whats your reason for making that statement? Do you have any hard facts you can share about your negative remarks in regards to a Fram filter?

. . . which is another filter made by Wix. They make a solid filter.

I've seen the quality of OEM filters go up and down like a yo-yo. Turns out they change suppliers and the end user never knows the difference. I don't know if MOPAR does this or not because I've been Wix-only for years.

I use synthetic oil and Wix in the JK. It starts dry about one time in a hundred, then it starts fine with the same oil and filter the next hundred times. May have something to do with how long it was parked, which can be a few days.

I've been using the MOPAR (M0-409 if I recall correctly) My local advance auto parts has them !

No dry starts unless it's been sitting over night and its below freezing outside.

Might try a WIX filter next oil change.

Yes actually. Ive personally pulled multiple fram filters apart and they all look and feel like they were made by a kid with a hot glue gun ( standard filters ) havent pulled a high millage version yet. Ive also talked to 3 people who own shops here and they have found pices of fram filter materal where it was not suposed to be or cases where the top or bottom cap of the filter seperated and was allowing oil to completly bypass the filter element.
