Are you sure about that? I'm not saying I don't believe it, but I can't see why it would be true. In either case (wide or narrow front track width) my wheels turn the same number of degrees to the side don't they? I would think turn radius would be a function of wheel base and angle of the wheels mostly. For example, would a trike have a significantly better turn radius than a car with the same wheel base?

I guess the actual radius is the same, but now since the wheel is actually out farther, wouldn't it track wider, hence making turning in a narrow spot more difficult? For example, if you just barely cleared the curb without spacers, you would hit the curb with the spacers, so the bottom line is you need more room to turn.

When I bought my LJ it was quite a shock to me the difference between that and my TJ and CJ. I got used to it. Just had to use reverse more often on the trails.

Same here, my wife's 2 door Accord has a much larger turning radius than my JKU.

I've done that a few times myself. If I think it's going to rub the sidewall, I just turn back outward some so to go over the curb.

I'm thinking of going from 2 door to 4 door and am worried about the loss of turning radius. Did you find that the extra space more than made up for it?

The first thing my wife did when test driving the unlimited was to check the turning radius. She fell in love with the JKU, when she found out it was tighter than her 99XJ.

Who cares about turning radius. Thats why my rubi has lockers and that skinny pedal.

For a vehicle of its size, the thing turns on a dime.
