18mths/30,000kms

are you referring to this schedule or the owner's manual for the 'extreme use' section? i was really curious as i want to keep my JK as happy and healthy as possible too, but i see others doing maintenance @ earlier intervals.
In my 2007 JK manual there is a Schedule "A" and Schedule "B". B is the extreme use one, which oddly, comes before A in the book. It covers such things as driving in extreme cold, off-road use, mostly short trips, and/or dusty conditions. That pretty much describes things around here well so I went with that.

It asks for service every 5000kms or 3 months. For example, oil change every 5k, tire rotation every 10k, and diff. drain and refill every 25k.

And, as an 07 I don't have the fancy maintenance light on the dash.

i think we're mixing the 2 things up here. my JK came with

Owner's Manual
Service Schedule Manual

it's a thinner booklet that's in there. granted i haven't checked my OManual for the 'extreme use', but i was refering to the SManual that has a checklist of what needs to be performed and at what intervals. in the SManual there is no 'extreme use' section. sorry if i was misleading or unclear. anyways, since you're in canada i'll assume my OManual is the same as urs, and our climate is similar (give or take the rain that dumps on u guys out west!) i gotta check that out. thanks for separating the 2 echofoxtrot! i have an '08 and have yet to have my dash chime at me for anything other than a seatbelt that needs to be buckled, fingers crossed!

Odd. Mine says every 5000 or three months.

Oh, and I have the American and the Canadian books (wanted the Jeep bag and my dealer took it out and put a crappy plastic thing in - thanks e-bay!) and they are VERY different. Way more in the American.

I was not aware of that so I dug deeper. He said that if the JK was driven hard the light would come on sooner. if it was just highway miles it wouldn't come on until 6000. Sorry to steel the show here but I have not heard of this before. Have any of you?
Yeah, I have this right now. I expected to need a change at 15000km, but I'm only at 13,500 and the light came on on the OD.

Oh weird, I didn't even get a Service Schedule Manual. I missed where you mentioned it earlier. It sounds like what's in the back of my 07 owner's manual though. There could potentially be differences in the manual itself regarding that stuff.

But all I know for sure is that the front cover is different.
