Default Using front hard top panels only

When using just the front freedom panels, it seems like rain will run right onto the front seats at the corners between the rollbar and the top. I haven't got caught yet, but is there a fix for this?

i do this sometimes but i've never gotten caught. i don't think there's a solution unless u somehow find a way to route the water to the front and on to the windshield. i don't see that as a possiblity tho. just carry a towel in ur car so u can wipe down the rears. i keep a towel in the rig for just such occasions and for when i park w/the top down. this thing is a dust magnet!

Mine has been caught in the rain sitting still, however I have been caught driving it like this in rain and it wasn't an issue.

I'm sorry but if it rains, you're going to get wet, regardless of the configuration of what tops you have, unless the entire hardtop is on.
And often the hard top will leak!

I am going to take a long trip, and I don't want to take the hard top. Just the panels, the doors, and a windjammer across the back. It seems like a silly design flaw that they don't cover the seats, like a bikini top does.

When using just the 2 front panels, they do not quite cover the seats at the corners. I don't mind getting a little wet, but I am planning a long trip. I want to use just the front panels, doors, and a windjammer so I can open it up when I get there.

It seems like it might be possible to put some kind of foam or something under the rear edge of the top panels, to make any water flow aft of the roll bar. I am going to experiment, but if anyone has something that works, I would appreciate it.

Design flaw?? They were designed to work with the full hard top and be removed, it just so happens that they will act as a bikini top just by themselves. I don't think Jeep designed them to work with a windjammer made by another company during wet weather and be waterproof.

One of those cheapo blue camping foam sleep pads might work well. Sort of dense foam and easy to cut.
Don't forget to pop those two tabs in the aft end of the Freedoim panels down before you clamp them in place. They take up the gap when the back half of the top is off.

And park uphill if it looks like rain!

Put your seat up farther when you run it this way. You will get less wet. Also consider taking the carpets out if you are going to run it this way. The foam under the carpeting absorbs a lot of water and will smell. I love running mine this way since the panels protect the electronics at least in the front. Best of luck!

yes it will get your back wet if you aren't scooted far enough forward.
