Default Valves rattling?

Has anyone experienced what sounds like valves rattling? My JK Sport is a 2010 with 3,500 miles. I did not notice the sound until after I removed all the carpet at about 1,000 miles.

Heard from inside the Jeep, or from under the hood?

Sounds like it's coming from under the hood, and more pronounced when accelerating or when engine is under load. I was thinking that it could be the aluminum heat shields, but all the shields seem to be properly mounted and not loose.

Mine has made a noise like that before and it was just because of where I was getting gas. Guess it had water in it or just bad gas. Started goi ng somewhere else and haven't heard the noise since.

Roller lifters will tick a little more than a standerd lifter with such low miles wait for it to break in

I'll bet what you hear is spark knock (pinging). I can hear my Rubi pinging in certain low RPM acceleration situations with the doors off. Doors on I hear nothing. Run a tank of premium or mid-grade and see if it goes away.

I've ran a tank of premium (92 or 93 octane) with injector cleaner. It seemed to subdue the sound, but did not eliminate it. I'm back to 87.

Thanks for the replies. "Spark knock" caught my eye and I did a search on the forum and there's plenty here to read. I hope it is just the roller lifters and that the noise will go away with break-in. I will change brand of gas and see if that helps. I do buy from only one place currently. Again thanks.
