Default War of the tops!!!

I have been searching for the last week looking for the best option for overhead protection in the summer. Most of the threads are rather old and I am looking for more recent reviews. I would like a top (Safari- Front and rear cover for JKU) that provides good protection from rain that will also hold up well with highway driving. Most of the tops I have researched claim that they will only protect from "light rain". Im not really sure if they are factoring in side ways rain during heavy storms. Cost does not play any factor. Please advise of any good or bad experiences with these tops.

None of the safari type tops are going to offer much coverage in rain other than very light drizzle when not driving. Without anything on the sides your not gonna have any protection from driving rains or the water that is being sprayed up from driving down the road.

If you don't have the factory style soft top already, I would suggest one of those. You can unzip the sides and back when they are not needed. And then when you do need them, just zip them back up.

Basically. Just remove the soft windows and it's like a safari top. Living in Colorado with the blazing sun I usually drive around minus the windows during the day to avoid a wicked sunburn.

I think that based off what you want, a TrekTop NX is probably the best option for you.

Hi Everyone,

I have been considering this top

Bestop Part 52594-35 - Safari Bikini Top and Windshield Channel - Fits 2010 to 2015 JK Wrangler Unlimited and Rubicon Unlimited - 4 Wheel Parts

Has anyone had any experience with it, i have similar requirements as the OP i would like something that keeps the rain out (from the front obviously). This one uses the factory surrounds so in my mind it should be reasonably weather proof.

Trektop nx for sure, love mine, I bought smittybuilt seat covers, and if they are a sign of their products I will never order anything with their name on it again, let alone an $700+ top
