Default Warranty Question

If I wanted to add or change something to my Jk (gears, swaybar, etc) and had a Jeep dealership install it, would that be covered under the unlimited warranty? I thought maybe a mopar part installed my mopar professionals, it may be covered.

Thanks

Yes all Mopar parts installed by the dealer will be covered under the warranty and will not void your warranty. Non Mopar stuff is another beast. The dealership will tell you it will void your warranty if you put after market stuff on your Jeep. In fact they can't! They have the burden of proving your modification did something to cause part X to fail. They can refuse to submit their work on your car to CDJ for reimbursement and make you pay for the repairs but you can hire an attorney and fight the warranty decision under the Magnuson Moss warranty act.

If you mod your Jeep With aftermarket toys and something breaks you will probably have to pay for the repairs initialy. If you have any money left over you can get a lawer to help you get your money back. Most people don't have $3000 to replace a broken front axle, all the dammaged steering components that go with it (labor included), and still have $3000 left over to fight the dealership in court just because they put 35" tires on ther JK. I asked one of the JAG lawers on base for his help figuring out my rights under the factory warranty and that's what I got.

I was told that mopar parts would only be covered by the unlimited warranty if they were installed when I originally purchased the jeep. Any parts installed after the original purchase would be covered by the balance of the standard 3/36.
