Water Pump
I took my 2013 Wrangler Unlimited in for the factory recall of the transmission cooler tube. At the same time I had them look at my water pump because it sounded like it was going out. They fixed the recall and installed new water pump. Upon driving it home I smelled radiator fluid outside of my Jeep. I figured some had spilled on engine when working on water pump but after driving it on the highway for 4 hours I still smelled it on outside of vehicle when I stopped. I called dealership and had them look at it again to make sure it wasn't leaking. Mechanic said radiator fluid had spilled on engine and he cleaned it off and said it was fine. I drove home and am still smelling radiator fluid. I have two questions: wouldn't the radiator fluid have burned off after 4 hours of driving AND where else should I look. BTW when parked I have never seen and radiator fluid leaks.
I was a bit careless when I changed my water pump. I neglected to drain the fluid before taking off the pump bc I read somewhere that this engine there won't be much fluid that will, leak out. Big lie! Anyways, I successfully changed it and due to my fluid spill I smelled coolant for a few days. And I drive 100 miles a day.
