Default Water in trunk

Anyone else have a problem of water getting in on the back right of the trunk? (right where the hinge of the door is?) Im thinking its something with where the window zipper stops, the top meets the car, and the window meets the swing door. Any suggestions?

Yes and no. If yours is like mine, don't put anything in there or it will get moldy. It took some time to find out what that smell was. That was with my hard top on.

I "modded" my cubby hole. I cut the carpet along the left and right sides of the cubby and along the back so that I can take it out and dry it so nothing gets moldy. Mine took in water from the top being off for a month in the rain.

Had the windows off last week in an overnight torrential downpour. The cubby (and jack well) was filled to the top. Pulled the plugs, dried the carpet and back to normal... until last night when I felt under the back seat. Soaked. the slush mat was keeping in the moisture. Could have been a stinker but I think I caught it in time. Really makes me think about LineX ing the whole tub.

x2 here. lost a map when the rear cubby got soaked, pulled the plug and dried it out and now it's fine.

Gonna do a test with line-x on the inside of the tailgate, then the rest of the rear tub if all goes well.

If you have a soft top check that it seals well when you close the rear door, my little plastic things that hold the window bar in place tend to come loose resulting in all the rain water hitting the window running down between the door and rubber seal straight into to trunk.

So, after a very hard downpour tonight, I noticed my trunk carpet was wet. I have an 07 hard top, and I don't recall it leaking before. I have a subwoofer back there, and had it out, and I think the stereo wires got wet and shorted out the amplifier.

Is there anyway to fix this? If i was to take it to the dealership, would they fix it? Thanks!

Not sure if this is your problem, but I had water coming up around the various drain plugs and soaking the carpet. Two of the drain plugs had fallen out and were gone. It made the carpet smell awful.

I put duct tape around all the plugs and covered the missing holes. Now the only water gets in there is when I ignore the pre-down poor drops and get caught with the top down.
